left late afternoon as usual through Cincinnati, but after numerous delays ended up spending the night. couple of canceled flights on Friday, but finally home a day late. had some packages waiting, including the stroller in a huge box.

attempted to ship some packages to Ukraine in the morning, but the company was randomly closed. picked up tulips on the way back, then got ready for Лена’s maternity photo session. short drive there, and the hour long shoot went by quickly. unfortunately we won’t be getting the disc back with the photos for a week or so… booked the same photographer for a newborn session pending Mira’s arrival. random shopping and such later for a productive day.

insanely busy day at work. again… finally got to the airport and was able to eat for the first time. 2 flights, but got home without delays for a change. plans to go out for dinner, but was far better to instead simply spend some time together at home.

early afternoon shopping, but didn’t end up with the high chair that was our original goal. a little late to Mary’s for the Super Bowl – a good time as always. game was entertaining and a nail biter at the end.

up early to prep for Лена’s surprise party, but had to deal with some tire drama on the truck for a couple of hours first. finally able to head to the party store to pick up the balloons, which meant i sprung the surprise when i brought them home. prepped and decorated, picked up some catering from across the street. was a great time, loads of fun, really glad to see every single person there. wrapped up early evening and clean up was easy. fell asleep early on the sofa as i hadn’t had a proper night’s sleep since last weekend.

visited 2 baby stores, and starting to check off some of the major purchases on our list. looking to be a spendy endeavor, and the list is still long.

working from the hotel as today is a client holiday for MLK. mid afternoon trip to the JFK Plaza / Love Park to take some photos. evening walk to the Convention Center to check out the auto show. was ok, wasn’t moved by any of the new models, but was cool to see 2 Fiskar Karmas. late dinner back in the hotel before bed.

brunch at a French cafe on our way to see the historic sites. quick stop by the ho-hum Liberty Bell before a walk down Market Street to the river. spent a good chunk of time poking around before eventually taxiing back to the hotel. caught the end of the 49ers game and the entire Ravens game – should be an interesting Super Bowl.

left the office a little early and finished the day working from the hotel. early evening walk around the city shooting photos, then made our way to the east side of the city center to explore some new shops and restaurants. ended up at Opa which we both liked, but the food was a far cry from Chicago’s Greektown.

busy day at work, but great to have Лена here with me the next couple of weeks. breakfast and lunch together then went for a late walk after work and ended up at a cool place named Serafina for dinner. came home and discussed old wives’ tales.
