working on closets with no end in sight. back to the Loop, cleaned up and headed out to Tao for a fun dinner. nice place, but a total rip off of Buddha Bar… back home, played a bunch of games, and struggled to make it to midnight. so long 2018, hoping for the best in 2019.

early errands to pick up flowers and a cake from Magnolia. opened presents and had cake early, then over to the new place to figure out where everything will eventually go. nice dinner at Joe’s to celebrate Лена’s birthday.

Mira got us up early, and wasn’t long before we were shredding wrapping paper. built a LEGO hospital with Mira while Лена napped, then I got my nap while the girls watched a movie. take out Chinese for dinner.

“final” walkthrough at the new place, and is looking good. a last grocery run, then home to change for dinner. nice meal at Fogo and up late getting ready for tomorrow.

over to 900 North to see Santa. close to a 3 hour wait, so endlessly poked around the stores until Mira finally got her chance.

morning to Mission, then over to Union Station early afternoon for our Polar Express experience. super corny, but Mira loved it so i can’t complain.

over to Mira’s school after lunch to catch the kindergarten class’ performance. 3 holiday songs and the children really put on a good show. back home, quick bite, then Mira was off to 3.5 hours of gymnastics.

busy day with the girls after school. wrapped up Mira’s artistic gymnastics class in the city, then drove out to Deerfield so Лена could drop off some presents to the North Shore Rhythmics coaches. hung out for a while, watching in awe, gym full of current and future Olympians.

another day home from school, already looking much better compared to yesterday. picked up some new Christmas shapes from Target, and we’re making the cookies from scratch this year, including the frosting… hoping to avoid the yearly cookie blob massacre. complete success, and lots of fun decorating.

a little under the weather, but wanted to go to school today for the party. early dinner at Shake Shack, then in bed for the night.
