embraced Wacky Wednesday at school today. gymnastics after school and back home late, as usual.

up early, opened presents, and had cake. Mira is still a little sick, so kept her home from school. eventually out to her first artistic gymnastics competition, which was great. proud dad!

forecast called for a big snow, but only ended up with a dusting. drove to Pilsen for some ramen and dumplings at Furious Spoon for dinner. king cake at home for dessert to celebrate, and of course Mira ultimately ended up with the baby.

Valentine’s, so Mira was of course up early to open presents. came across this group of Sherp ATVs on the way home – turned out being a Kayne shoe giveaway promo. both girls were busy in the evening, so an uneventful night.

sunday routine, as usual. drove out towards Rosemont early evening for a fun Disney on Ice show with the girls – lot of fun, and glad to finally attend one.

got maybe 2” last night. winters here aren’t the most interesting… back to the new West Loop studio space with the girls in the evening for practice.

day off from school… homework in the morning and some science – step 1 of making a geode in the afternoon. short day at gymnastics, back early for dinner.

ballet in the morning with Mira, and was great to be able to sit in during class for the end of semester observation. short train ride over to the Russian school for an art class, then the 3 of us grabbed a quick bite before heading home. watched Kung Fu Panda with Mira in the afternoon, and happy to have a holiday tomorrow.

late morning bday party for one of Mira’s friends, and got to tour one of the newer developments in the neighborhood. back home to build some LEGOs before dinner

slow day at home – slept in, ate at home, and watched the Lorax with Mira. girls were off to the studio to practice routines, and i swung by Eddie’s to help him build a basketball backboard. Eddie and Eliana swung by late for the girls to play, then rung in the New Year with games, food, and champagne.
