summer fun

second week back at Mira’s reopened artistic gymnastics gym. long evening walk, ended up at the park, and made a new friend.

strawberries!

up early and off on a long drive toward a strawberry farm. fun time, and ended up bring 10 quarts back home with us. stopped by the cemetery on the way back to share some love at the family plot. watched Goonies with Mira before bed.

Tori (the tree)

eastern redbud tree finally arrived by mail – bare root, so am giving it plenty of attention in hope that it survives long enough to grow a decent root structure before winter. immediately planted it with Mira, who of course gave it a name…

long afternoon stroll with Mira to enjoy the sunshine. ended up at Athena – great, leisurely time on their deck.

neighbor’s party, and a good excuse to have Maryland crabs. good time, even got some sun for a change.

protests

slow day at home. trip to Target with Mira in the afternoon to pick up a few things. ate dinner on the balcony at the new table i built. evening protest around the corner, so the 3 of us dropped by.

holiday

joined a couple of neighbors and their kids for some sprinkler fun. cut down a few furring strips and Trex boards in the afternoon to start a new balcony table build.

early morning trip to pick up a couple of things from Ikea. afternoon stop in the park with the girls to enjoy the warm day.

dessert!

Mira and Лена made шоколадная колбаса, but had to wait until the morning to slice open the first one for a taste. shocking amounts of butter and sugar, but oh so yummy…
