left for Ogden later than usual as i needed to swing by the post office first. got there and only managed to get in a single jump before leaving for SLC to meet up with Seth and Britt. went to a Real Salt Lake MSL game with Seth which turned out being a lot of fun – watched Thierry Henry do absolutely nothing for 90 minutes. stayed at their place for the night, which is always very welcome.
got home in time to see the progress on the house before night fall. the broken hot tub is gone, all the soffit is done, the T111 is going up, and the access tunnel between the top of the stairs and the new room is in.
6 years working with the company, and finally made it to their corporate offices, although it’s now all meaningless as they were acquired by IBM last week. first day out of at least the next three weeks working in OH.
early afternoon flight to Columbus from Chicago. second day in a row was given a rental with TN plates. followed a recommendation and grabbed some tasty Japanese food before bed.
flew in for the day to meet with Bill and do a demo the next morning. had a nice sushi dinner and received an interesting business proposal…
name finally got printed for my A license in the September issue of Parachutist. of course, it’s the only WY name in there…
gaining more space and another floor with the roof construction. now the question is what to use it for… am hoping it becomes a dance studio. 🙂
trusses are up on the a-frame, and will hopefully be covered in sheathing by the end of the day. hope to be wrapping up soon, but realistically looks to have a couple of more weeks.
went back to Greektown for breakfast, and ended up with another slice of galaktoboureko. made my way to the airport, DTW -> MSP with a few hours layover. had some cash from previous trips to Peru and Ukraine with me and ended up with $150 from the Minneapolis money exchange booth. from there flew direct to JAC, which is again rainy and cold – looks like summer is ending. got home and was happy to see the trusses up on the a-frame and the new windows installed.
1 o’clock UD alumni soccer game, got to Calihan early to meet with Pat and Del. wasn’t the best representation from the folks i played with, but was great to see Pat, Del, Etian, Matt, Chris and the others. enjoyed playing, and our 2 late second half goals were the difference. had a simple gathering afterwards, then took a tour down memory lane – walking the campus, touring the buldings, breaking into the dorms, and even getting into the White House. those were the days… 🙂 grabbed dinner downtown with Glen, Del, Pat & Regan, Etian, and Matt at Fishbones. walked back to Greektown after dinner and brought a slice of galaktoboureko back to the hotel.
