huge delay leaving SLC, sat on the tarmac forever. knew i was going to miss my connection in Mexico City, so emailed the hotel and let them know as the plane finally took off. sure enough, after finally getting through immigration in MEX, the flight to Lima had already left. also meant that that i was to miss my flight into Cusco. spent a bunch of time at both the Delta and LAN desks, and finally got sorted out. Delta gave me a room for the night at the Camino Real across the street from the airport. headed to the hotel, which seemed nice enough, checked in and got dinner in the hotel bistro which was excellent. my first samplings of quality ceviche, and definitely not to be my last during the trip.
